Live Session Lesson Guide
The WuWei platform supports live session lessons with real-time interaction. This guide walks you through setting up and broadcasting a live session using OBS Studio.
Create a Live Session Lesson
- Log in to the Admin Panel
- Navigate to the course section and add a new lesson
- Choose the Lesson Type as
Live
- Set the Start Time and End Time for the live session
- Click Submit to save the lesson
Get Live Stream Information
After saving the live lesson:
Click Push Stream Test to view your stream details.
A popup will display:
- Stream URL
- Stream Key
If you're a course instructor, you can also find your stream info under:
Teacher Center → My Live Sessions
Configure OBS Studio for Streaming
To broadcast your session using OBS Studio:
1. Open OBS Studio
2. Configure the Stream Settings
Go to File → Settings → Stream
Set the following values:
- Service: Custom
- Server: (Paste your Stream URL)
- Stream Key: (Paste your Stream Key)
Click OK to save the configuration.
3. Add Your Video and Audio Sources
In the Sources panel, click the + button
Add your desired input sources:
- Video Capture Device (e.g. your webcam)
- Audio Input Capture (e.g. microphone)
- Screen Capture or Window Capture (if you want to share your screen)
Make sure each source is properly positioned in the preview.
4. Start the Live Stream
Click Start Streaming in the main OBS window.
Once the instructor starts streaming from OBS:
- The live lesson in the course outline will be automatically flagged as "streaming"
- This real-time status lets students know the session is currently live
Tips for a Smooth Live Experience
- Instructors should start streaming at least 3-5 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure visibility
- Students should use a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari) for best compatibility
- A stable internet connection is recommended for uninterrupted playback
- If students can not see the live stream, ask them to refresh the page or check their network
